MOVIE CLASSIFICATIONS

G films and computer games are for general viewing. Many of these films and computer games contain content that would be of no interest to children. The content is very mild.

PG films and computer games may contain material that needs to be explained to children and therefore parental guidance is recommended. The content is mild.

The M category is recommended for mature audiences. A mature perspective is required to view this material. The content is of a moderate impact.

The MA 15+ category is a legally restricted category. The content is strong. The restrictions apply to children under the age of 15 years. A person under the age of 15 years can see a film which has an MA 15+ classification, but it is not recommended and they must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian if they are viewing or buying a film or computer games that has been classified MA 15+.

The R 18+ classification is legally restricted to adults because of its high-impact content. A person must be 18 years or over to see these films. Some material in this classification may be offensive to some sections of the adult community.
